Michiel is a Director at Guidehouse, with 24 years of experience in the chemical sector, industrial energy use, and associated policies and strategies. Michiel is currently leading the support to SBTi and WRI developing the new chemicals and pharma Science Based Target Setting guidance.
He has also managed Energy & Climate Roadmap projects for European sectors like EuLA, Cefic and Fertilizer Europe, and the Dutch chemical industry (VNCI), as well as projects for many industrial companies.
With expertise in multi-stakeholder projects, managing consortia, design/delivery of workshops and creative thinking sessions, Michiel combines stakeholder management skills, with deep (chemical) industry knowledge, circularity and value chain decarbonisation.
Guilherme Monteiro, Senior Consultant
Guilherme is a Senior Consultant at Guidehouse, with 4 years of experience in the chemical sector, sustainability strategy and on-site project implementation, and scope 3 accounting.
Guilherme is currently supporting the SBTi and WRI in the developments of the new chemicals and pharma Science Based Target Setting guidance, focusing specifically on scope 3 topics such as feedstocks and end-of-life emissions accounting.
He has supported various industrial companies on scope 3 emissions review and accounting, feasibility of net zero targets, scope 3 abatement strategies, KPIs development and tracking, and guidance specifically for end-of-life accounting methodologies for recycling, incineration, landfill, and CCUS from a chemical-sector context.
