TfS paper presentation “The TfS solution for a PCF sharing platform” at LCM 2023

The paper will be presented during the session “Towards carbon neutrality with LCM 2” on 7 September from 1:30pm to 3:00pm at the Théatre Marie Curie.

This year the International Conference on Life Cycle Management will take place from 6 to 8 September in Lille, France. Under the direction of Prof Peter Saling, BASF, Co-Chair of the TfS Work Stream on Scope 3 GHG emissions, the TfS Team successfully submitted the paper “The TfS solution for a PCF sharing platform”.

The paper will be presented during the session “Towards carbon neutrality with LCM 2” which will take place on 7 September from 1:30pm to 3:00pm at the Théatre Marie Curie.

Last year, TfS successfully launched its Product Carbon Footprint, a chemical industry-specific guideline for PCF determination and an important enabler to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions in the chemical industry. This year TfS took an important step further and is currently piloting a PCF data-sharing solution, allowing TfS members and suppliers to safely share upstream product carbon footprint. The PCF data-sharing solution will considerably improve compliance and transparency in the process. Next to just sharing PCFs between suppliers and TFS members, the TfS platform contains important enhancements of a digitalised PCF exchange (such as ID mapping, APIs, or a partial automatisation of validations).

The session will present the status of the development of the TfS PCF data-sharing platform, its importance in a transitioning chemical market, important learnings from the development and pilot phase, and planned next steps.
