TfS launches its 2025 Activity Report: Sustainable Procurement as a Strategic Imperative for Resilience and Growth

Together for Sustainability (TfS) announces the publication of its Activity Report 2025: “Sustainable procurement: a strategic imperative for resilience and growth.” The new report presents a year defined by decisive action, accelerated implementation of the Accelerate4Impact strategy, and strengthening of global collaboration across the chemical value chain.

The 2025 Activity Report demonstrates how TfS continues to raise the bar for responsible sourcing – moving from commitment to operational impact.

A message from the President: Progress through action and collaboration

In her annual foreword, TfS President Jennifer Jewson reflects on a complex year marked by geopolitical, environmental, and economic challenges – conditions that reinforce the need for strong, resilient, and future-ready supply chains.

She emphasises that sustainable procurement is no longer simply the right thing to do, but an essential driver of business growth, value creation, and long-term competitiveness. Throughout 2025, the full deployment of Accelerate4Impact transformed this conviction into measurable progress.

Accelerate4Impact becomes reality

2025 was the first full year of implementation for the Accelerate4Impact strategy. TfS strengthened the structures that enable continuous improvement, including:

  • The establishment of Excellence Groups, now driving targeted improvements across buyer toolkits, supplier engagement, and audit follow-up.
  • Additional elements of governance, including an idea‑submission tool that supports transparent, structured decision‑making.
  • The rollout of improvement-focused KPIs, creating clearer accountability and stronger alignment across the membership.

These achievements reflect TfS’s strategic commitment to accelerate the transformation of chemical supply chains.

Strengthened leadership on Scope 3 emissions

Scope 3 is an essential component of TfS’s mission to support credible, comparable, and actionable climate data across the industry.
Key 2025 milestones include:

  • Publication of PCF Guideline v3.0, aligned with ISO, the GHG Protocol, and Catena‑X standards.
  • Updates to the PCF Data Model (v3.0 and v3.1), improving clarity, interoperability, and verification alignment.
  • Expansion of the PCF Exchange Solution powered by the SiGREEN platform, enabling secure, automated exchange of product carbon footprint data.
  • Over 100 global stakeholder engagements strengthening cross‑industry collaboration and international recognition of the TfS methodology.

These advancements position TfS as the reference initiative for Scope 3 transparency in the chemical industry.

Assessments, audits, and measurable supplier improvement

TfS strengthened the impact of its core programmes:

  • 16,099 Assessments conducted in 2025, contributing to 24,091 shared assessments in the global pool
  • 76% of suppliers scoring below 54 improved following an assessment or engagement (adjusted KPI)
  • 605 Audits conducted in 2025 and shared, contributing to a total of 1,390 valid shared audits in the TfS pool
  • 37% of Audits with major and critical findings showed progress, 12% of audits with major and critical findings were closed (new KPIs)

Supplier improvements documented in TfS Assessment or TfS Audit follow-up or re-Audits in 2025: 9,100 suppliers

A year of exceptional learning and community engagement

The TfS Academy continued to strengthen global capability building with:

  • Record participation: 7,201 member users and 4,853 supplier users.
  • 2,800 participants trained across audits, assessments, and Scope 3 sessions.
  • New learning series dedicated to sustainable procurement and human rights due diligence.

A dynamic learning community – through #TfSTalks, CPO discussions, regional workshops, and the Annual TfS Workshop – powered collaboration across the membership.

A growing global network

In 2025, TfS welcomed six new members – Caldic, Celanese, Eternis, Hempel, Novonesis, and Procter & Gamble – bringing total membership to 58 companies with a combined turnover exceeding €800 billion. TfS regional teams in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and North America continued to accelerate outreach, enabling stronger local engagement and global alignment.

Looking ahead

The 2025 Activity Report makes one thing clear: TfS is evolving from ambition to accelerated execution. Through strengthened programmes, deeper collaboration, and a renewed focus on measurable improvement, TfS is shaping sustainable, resilient, and future-ready chemical supply chains worldwide.
