TfS statement on SiGREEN becoming part of Makersite

Together for Sustainability (TfS) and its member companies reaffirm their commitment to driving and supporting the exchange of high-quality Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data across chemical value chains.
Currently, this exchange of PCF data is enabled by the TfS PCF Exchange solution, implemented via the SiGREEN tool, until now developed by Siemens.
Siemens recent announcement regarding the change of ownership of SiGREEN to Makersite does not change our mission or priorities. TfS remains fully dedicated to advancing transparent, reliable PCF data exchange at scale, as a key part of GHG emission reduction in the chemical industry.
Our goal is clear: enable the effective exchange of PCF data that supports companies’ sustainability objectives and promotes meaningful climate action. PCF exchange is not optional for reducing Scope 3 emissions: it is essential.
TfS will continue to work with all relevant stakeholders, including Makersite, to ensure interoperability, data ownership, data integrity, security, and alignment with the TfS PCF Methodology.
What this means for stakeholders
- Continuity for SiGREEN users: Companies (TfS members, suppliers, customers) using SiGREEN can expect continuity, ongoing support and engagement, as Makersite is committed to continue operating the platform taking over from Siemens.
If you are a supplier to a TfS member, in case of concerns or questions regarding your use of SiGREEN, please reach out to the TfS member company who invited you. - Quality and interoperability: TfS, via its Working Groups, continues to guide platform requirements, interoperability, data ownership and security across solutions.
- Ongoing collaboration: TfS Workstream 5 remains active in coordinating the ownership transition topics and consolidating member needs to support future improvements.

Q&A
Will TfS continue collaborating with SiGREEN under Makersite?
Yes. TfS will work closely with Makersite as the new owner of SiGREEN, as well as with any other relevant stakeholders, to ensure interoperability, data ownership, data integrity, security, and alignment with the TfS PCF Methodology.
What does this mean for companies already using SiGREEN?
Companies (TfS members, suppliers, customers) using SiGREEN can expect continuity, ongoing support and engagement, as Makersite is committed to continue operating the platform taking over from Siemens. TfS has already started engaging with Makersite to ensure that PCF data exchange can continue effectively.
If you are a supplier to a TfS member, in case of concerns or questions regarding your use of SiGREEN, please reach out to the TfS member company who invited you. They have all the necessary information to clarify any doubt, and are in touch with the TfS office, Siemens, and Makersite, if additional follow-up is needed.
How does this impact TfS initiatives on PCF exchange?
PCF exchange remains a critical part of decarbonization efforts in the chemical industry. TfS will continue to lead and facilitate effective PCF data exchange to support the sector’s sustainability goals.
Will interoperability between platforms remain a priority?
Absolutely. TfS advocates for interoperability to enable seamless data exchange and use. We will continue to work with technology providers, including Makersite as new owner of SiGREEN, to maintain compatibility and alignment with the TfS Data Model, and interoperability with other leading initiatives currently supported by SiGREEN (e.g., PACT, Catena-X).
What is TfS doing to accelerate PCF exchange and use beyond this change?
TfS and its members continue to actively drive harmonisation and standardisation of calculation methodologies, ensuring alignment and interoperability with key initiatives and industry sectors, key for PCF exchange, and continue to further support companies across the chemical supply chain in their efforts to engage suppliers, calculate PCFs, and use PCF data – ensuring continuity regardless of changes in SiGREEN ownership
More in general, we continue at full speed with our comprehensive Scope 3 GHG approach, aimed at supporting companies throughout their PCF journeys (on PCF calculation, data reporting, exchange, verification and validation, and data use). Finally, we continue delivering targeted members and suppliers trainings and engaging with key partners.
Where can stakeholders find updates on this topic?
Important updates coming from TfS will be published on the TfS website and other public channels (e.g., LinkedIn). All other follow-up information will be shared with relevant stakeholders via our official communication channels, (e.g., newsletters, internal specific communication to TfS members and suppliers).
Stakeholders can also reach out directly to the TfS Office for specific queries via the TfS website (choosing “PCF Exchange Solution” as topic):

As for communication from Siemens and Makersite, they will take care of providing updates to all affected stakeholders.
What are next steps?
The transfer of ownership from Siemens to Makersite is expected to take effect on June 1, 2026. Between today and then, further communication will be taking place, including Q&A sessions from the SiGREEN team for TfS members.
